ASBV Research Trial

Validating Performance Through Independent Research

At Kentish Downs, data integrity and validation are central to our breeding philosophy. By participating in independent research trials, we ensure that our Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs) accurately reflect on-farm performance and commercial outcomes.

In August 2024, an independent research trial was launched at the TAIC to validate ASBVs. While the full dataset is still being analysed, early results are already impressive — at less than six months of age on a pasture-only diet, lambs would average $326.50 per head based on current values in September 2025.
